Last week Mr Arroyo and Miss Wessels were part of the 34 strong England National team that travelled to the European Chapmionships in Sarajevo, Bosnia. Mr Arroyo won gold in the 4-6 degree patterns, making him 3 times European Champion and winning his latest 18 years since his first European title. Miss Wessels won a bronze medal in senior female team sparring with fights against Poland and Norway.
Tunbridge Wells instructor Master Thompson who travelled with the squad as a National Team coach was over the moon for Mr Arroyo. “I have known Steven for 20 years and he is one of England’s best and most successful competitors ever. It was amazing to see him perform so well on the main stage”.
Now the team turn their attention to the World Championships in Croatia in October.
