World Cup Report

What a week! Tunbridge Wells Taekwon-Do took a small team to the ITF World Cup in Benidorm, Spain.

It was the biggest world cup with over 2000 competitors from 57 countries. We were lucky enough to share it with the Affinity TKD team and helped support each other and spend all our down time with them, it was like we were one big family.

With some of the team going for their first world cup and international competition we were under no illusions as to how hard the challenge would be. So any medals would be amazing but to come back with 3 is an unbelievable achievement.

Congratulations to our medalists;

🥉🥉Harriet bronze in patterns and bronze in sparring!

🥇Mike gold in team sparring!

Also congratulations to Affinity students and their coach;

🥇🥈🥉Bethany gold in special technique, silver in sparring and bronze in patterns!

🥈Nicole silver in sparring!

🥉🥉Lynda bronze in patterns and bronze in sparring!

🥇Mr Arroyo gold in power test!

It’s not all about the medals. Some of the team had great performances but this time did not get the results that they wanted. But that’s part of the game.

Thanks to the coaches and supporters, without whom this would not be possible. Thanks to Mr Dziubicki and Londinium team for the team sparring and warm welcome.

Massive thanks to our sponsors Kings Rock Construction and TCW Solutions and Art Martial for sorting out tracksuits and tees.

A quick 24 hour rest and then back to it as all classes resume tomorrow (Monday)!
