What a great medal haul after a very very long day at the national championships.
Well done to all the competitors that stepped on to the tatami. Not many are brave enough to enter the dojang for the first time and even fewer have the courage to put themselves in for competition. So medal or not, you have done amazingly well just stepping on the mat.
We took 22 members and came away with 7 golds, 9 silvers and 11 bronze (I think!)
Well done to

Thanks so much to our coaches Mrs Sweeney, Mr Smith, Andries and master Thompson who coached from 10am until 10pm.
Special thanks to all the officials for giving up their time so the competitors can take part. Especially Miss Wessels, Mr Smith, Miss Rye and Mr Wessels for being the clubs umpires.
Thanks to all our supporters, it was a long day but it was great to see so many people stay to watch our last competitor at 9.40pm.
Thanks to organisers for running the competition and dealing with the difficult circumstances and delays. Everyone likes to complain when things go wrong but it is often not appreciated how much hard work goes into setting these events up.
Now we prepare for the warrior open next month!
